I offer private lessons for piano, drums, and guitar in Central Texas.  I teach all ages. Here is what my current teaching schedule looks like:

Monday - Grace Bible Church in Georgetown, TX. and Hope House in Burnet, TX a litlle later in the day.

Tuesday -  Reclaim Arts Academy in Marble Falls during the afternoon and evening

Wednesday - One Day Academy in Georgetow

Thursday - One Day Academy in Marble Falls during the day and Harmony School of Creative Arts in Marble Falls in the evening.

I have been teaching private and group lessons for over 30 years in the Austin area. As a music major at the University of Texas I studied piano and music theory and composition. I have studied a variety of styles and I have played professionally throughout Texas in several bands over the last 40 years. On occasions I have traveled to Nashville to perform in recording industry showcases. 

For piano and guitar I teach a balance between a traditional, classical approach and a more "big picture" approach that includes an understanding of theory and contemporary styles. My students learn correct technique using scales and technique exercises. But they also learn chord construction and basic theory. This develops a broader understanding of music in general.  My drum students learn rudiments but also how to be the drummer in any musical style.

I have several years of experience teaching young people. I have a BA in History and I have taught History and Geography on the secondary level. I am active in my church where I lead worship and teach younger musicians how to fit into a group. In this capacity I have helped worship teams and youth groups from several churches in the Austin area hone their skills.
